  • Triamcinolone injection is used to treat inflammation (swelling), allergic reactions, and certain types of arthritis, gout, skin diseases, and many other medical problems.

  • Before using this medication, tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: poor blood circulation, immune system problems.
  • Before using this medication, tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: bleeding problems, blood clots, bone loss (osteoporosis), diabetes, certain eye diseases (such as cataracts, glaucoma, herpes infection of the eye), heart problems (such as heart failure, recent heart attack), high blood pressure, current/past infections (such as joint infections and infections caused by fungus, herpes, tuberculosis, threadworm), kidney disease, liver disease, mental/mood conditions (such as psychosis, anxiety, depression), stomach/intestinal problems (such as diverticulitis, ulcer, ulcerative colitis), seizures, thyroid problems, mineral imbalance.
  • This drug may make you dizzy. Alcohol or marijuana (cannabis) can make you dizzier. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness until you can do it safely. Limit alcoholic beverages. Talk to your doctor if you are using marijuana (cannabis).
  • Using corticosteroid medications for a long time can make it more difficult for your body to respond to physical stress. Before having surgery or emergency treatment, or if you get a serious illness/injury, tell your doctor or dentist that you are using this medication or have used this medication within the past 12 months. Tell your doctor right away if you develop unusual/extreme tiredness or weight loss. If you will be using this medication for a long time, carry a warning card or medical ID bracelet that identifies your use of this medication.
  • This medication may mask signs of infection. It can make you more likely to get infections or may worsen any current infections. Avoid contact with people who have infections that may spread to others (such as chickenpox, measles, and flu). Consult your doctor if you have been exposed to an infection or for more details.
  • Do not have immunizations, vaccinations, or skin tests without the consent of your doctor. Avoid contact with people who have recently received live vaccines (such as flu vaccine inhaled through the nose).
  • This medicine may cause stomach bleeding. Daily use of alcohol while using this medicine may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Limit alcoholic beverages.
  • Older adults may be more sensitive to the side effects of this drug, especially bone loss/pain, stomach/intestinal bleeding, and mental/mood changes (such as confusion).
  • This medication may slow down a child's growth if used for a long time. Consult the doctor or pharmacist for more details. See the doctor regularly so your child's height and growth can be checked.
Injecting this medication into a muscle is not recommended for children younger than six years. Consult your doctor for more details.
  • The initial dose of Triton 40mg/ml may vary from 2.5mg to 100mg per day depending on the specific disease entity being treated.
Intravitreal Dosing
  • The recommended Intravitreal doses is single injection of 4mg per 0.05ml
Systemic dosing
  • The suggested initial dose is 60mg, injected deeply to the gluteal muscle,. Dosage is usually adjusted within the range of 40 to 80mg, depending upon patient response and duration of relief. However, some patients may be well controlled on doses as low as 20mg or less
Intra-articular Dosing
  • A single local injection is frequently sufficient, butt several may be needed for adequate relief symptoms.
Initial Dose
  • 5 to 5mg for smaller joints and from 5 to 15mg for larger joints, depending on the specific disease entity being treated. For adults, doses up to 10mg for smaller areas and up to 40mg for larger areas have usually been sufficient. Single injection into several joints, up to a total of 40mg have been given.
