Synalar Gel

KEY INGREDIENTS
Synalar® contain Fluocinolone Acetonide 0.025% available in Cream, Ointment & Gel.

DESCRIPTION
Synalar® Fluocinolone is a Mild steroid. It reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation.
Fluocinolone topical (for the skin) is used to treat the inflammation and itching caused by a number of skin conditions such as allergic reactions, Eczema, Seborrhea, and Psoriasis.

INDICATION
Synalar® cream, ointment
Management of inflammatory pruritic and allergic skin disorders including eczema, dermatitis, Intertrigo, prurigo, lichen planus, psoriasis and discoid lupus erythematosus.

Synalar® Gel
Management of inflammatory dermatoses of the scalp and other hairy regions of the body.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
Synalar® US FDA pregnancy category C: Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.

Nursing Mothers

It is not known whether topical administration of corticosteroids could result in sufficient systemic absorption to produce detectable quantities in breast milk.
If you apply SYNALAR® to your chest/nipples, avoid areas that may come into contact with the baby's mouth.

PRECAUTIONS

Special warnings and precautions for use

• Long-term continuous topical therapy with SYNALAR® should be avoided.
• Due to the content of corticosteroid, SYNALAR® should be used with care near the eyes. Avoid getting SYNALAR® into the eyes.
• Due to the content of corticosteroid having immunosuppressant effect, SYNALAR® may be associated with increased susceptibility to infection, aggravation of existing infection, and activation of latent infection. It is advised to switch to systemic treatment if infection cannot be controlled with topical treatment.
• Instruct patients not to smoke or go near naked flames - risk of severe burns. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings etc.) that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard.

APPLICATION 

• Wash and dry your hands before using.
• Clean and dry the affected area.
• Apply a thin film of medication to the affected area and gently rub in, usually 3-4 times daily or as directed by your doctor.
• Do not bandage, cover, or wrap the area unless directed to do so by your doctor.
• After applying the medication, wash your hands unless you are using this medication to treat the hands.
