DESCRIPTION

Bifonazole belongs to a group of medicines called imidazole and is an antifungal agent which fights the cause of fungal skin infections.

INDICATIONS

  1. Mycoses of the skin and skin folds, feet and hands. (a disease caused by any fungus that invades the tissues, causing superficial, subcutaneous, or systemic disease.)
  2. Erythrasma (Erythrasma is a superficial skin infection that causes brown, scaly skin patches.)
  3. Pityriasis Versicolor
  4. Ringworms, (also known as dermatophytosis, dermatophyte infection, or tinea, is a fungal infection of the skin.)
  5. Athlete’s Foot (tinea Pedis) is a fungal infection that usually begins between the toes.
  6. Jock itch (tinea Cruris) is a fungal infection that causes a red and itchy rash in warm and moist areas of the body.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Treatment of infants with nappy rash.
  • Treatment of nail and scalp infections.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

  • There are no clinical data from the use of Bifonazole in pregnant women. Studies in animals have shown reproductive toxicity at high oral doses.
  • It is unknown whether Bifonazole is excreted in human breast milk after topical application.

DIRECTIONS

If BIFOMYK Bifonazole Cream has been prescribed for you by your doctor, follow any instructions he/she may have given you. If you purchased this product without a prescription, follow these directions closely:

  • The affected areas should be washed and dried thoroughly before the cream is applied.
  • The cream should be applied thinly and evenly to the affected areas once daily, preferably at night before going to bed, and rubbed in gently.
  • In Athlete foot, it may help to use an antifungal dusting powder as well. Ask your doctor to recommend one

DURATION

  • Treatment should be continued for 2-3 weeks.
